Day two of the bathroom remodel is completed. It was a day of much cleanup, as was needed if you saw the first post after the demo!
The hope is always for smooth sailing. Well, today Joe (our grand contractor) discovered the tub has some quality issues. It is very thin in places, so we have called for a fix to this problem. Hoping it won’t delay the project too much! The supplier has responded quickly with an assurance that it will get fixed quickly. Fingers crossed!
Oh, and then an email from the counter-top folks means we may be changing course on that selection. When the quote gets more than doubled, you have to look at that!
Beyond that, the tub deck framing is completed. Next step…plumber in on Wednesday.
We moved into our new home in July, 2015 and are feeling pretty well settled. We did know from the beginning that we would be remodeling our master bathroom though. It really isn’t a bad bathroom, just not great for us:
The first thing we knew we didn’t like was the shower:
It is just too small…because of that seat built into the molded shower insert. You can see that there is barely room to turn around in there.
We also wanted a new tub. We like long soaks together and this tub just didn’t fit. Also, don’t like the white-ish tile on the vanity top and tub deck.
Sooooo, here we go!
Prep….our contractor is meticulous, which we appreciate:
(yes, that is the new tub sitting in the bedroom right now)

End of day one:
Needless to say, we will not be sleeping in that bedroom or using that bathroom for a few weeks. Luckily, we have a guest bedroom and bathroom that we have moved into. Sorry folks, ‘Club Web’ is temporarily closed for visiting!
